Signs and Symbols: African Images in African-American Quilts dNg she would returnDanny McCutcheon isn t a man without his own share of pain and heartache When he was eight years old he came to live with the only family he has his grandfather Danny has no memory of his father and probably wishes he had no memory of his mother Because of life Danny has learned not to take chancesUpon learning that her mother has fallen and broken her hip Callie rushes home to take care of her Knowing that once her mother is better she will be back to her nomadic life What Callieoesn t expect is that coming home This Time Will Put Her Heart At Risk And That time will put her heart at risk and that ll make new iscoveries about herself and othersI believe this book is classified as a contemporary romance It is heavy on the sweet romance side But this book is than just a romance book This is a story of a mom trying to protect her aughter but finally realizing that she needs to let her go and stand on her own Understanding that if her aughter falls she will to be #there to pick her up It s also a story of realizing #to pick her up It s also a story of realizing through the eyes of a child things are not always as they seem Though I hate to use the term coming of age through the course of this book the characters make self iscoveries about themselves and those around them One will realize that you can t punish yourself for something cast out in the universe to happen There are times you need to stop playing it safe and take a risk One will realize that if you just be honest with yourself and those you love things will look Literature and Dictatorship in Africa and Latin America 1958-1987 different in the light ofay And one will realize that coming face to face with your past just might lead you to where you truly belong and the place you ve been looking for your whole life And realizing that what you ve been looking for has Always Been Right There In Front Of been right there in front of Author This was a little serious than I was expecting I liked it though and it was fun to watch the story unfold It was good to see Callie settle Academic Advising Approaches down and realize what was important to her I had a hard time connecting with her at first Even though I move around a lot benefit of being married to a Marine but my heart is in Utah with my family I look forward to being able to return home and settlingown eventually So I guess I could kind of understand her WHOS WHO IN AFRICAN AMERICAN LITERATURE VOL.1 desire to see the world but it seemed a little pointless the way she wasoing it I was glad to see her get some answers about her father and really Agricultural Science for CSEC Examinations discove who she is and what she wants I liked the romance I m a sucker for those lost love stories While they technically neverated before so I guess it was of a lost crush story They were great together though and I though their relationship was believable Cute romance Overall a good read Content Clean I think there was maybe one curse word My Personal OpinionThis book was truly a pleasant surprise usually when I read such a short book 128 pages I never find myself caring too much for the characters simply because there isn t enough time to get to know them well but Coming home is a whole Alphas Abused Mate different storyThe storyevelopment took most of the pages of this book which worked great in this case because it build anticipation and gave me time to love and understand the main characters This book brought many emotions to the surfaceI would often find myself complaining to Callie for her ecisionsyelling at Danny for not trying hard enough or awwing and crying whenever there was a sweet momentComing home is an emotional ride beautifully written and eveloped this kind of books are the ones that remind me that writing is art and that uantity Climate Smart Agriculture (Natural Resource Management and Policy Book 52) doesn t t necessarily means uality FOr reviews and free bookownloads visit The author provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review2 12 starsCallie left home years ago her father left when she was young and she thought that living the nomad lifestyle would make her understand why he left She is living in New York City when she gets a call from her Academic Body deceased brothers best friend Danny the man she loved and never had Her mother fell off a beautifully written Nice length of a read for one sitting Looks at theynamics of parent child and how they are changing but still effect one s perceptions She was looking for something but found it where she least expected it You could feel the emotions coming off the page. Ld feelings Saint Germain On Alchemy die hard But for Danny it’s new feelings that are a problem Callie is not the young girl he remembers but a woman now and a veryesirable one They both have reasons to fight the growing attraction between them but the temptation may just prove to be too much to resist espite some very real risk to their hearts The past casts a long shadow over the future though and Callie will have to overcome it or else face losing the one man who means the most to he. ,

After looking at the reviews on AND GOODREADS I WAS VERY EXCITED Goodreads I was very excited read this book The blurb intrigued me as well I was a little isappointed once I read the book though I on t understand How It Has Five 5 Star Reviews it has five 5 star reviews It was an okay book but not great The story flowed but very slowly I had to stop reading it a couple of times and get back into the story The editing in this book was amazing I idn t notice any grammatical errors or spelling mistakes which is rare I just wish the author would ve picked up the pace and maybe had some The Columbia Guide to South African Literature in English Since 1945 (The Columbia Guides to Literature Since 1945) drama throw some spice into the story I like my stories fast paced and spicy If you like your books slow coming and mild this book is for you The authorid a good job on character Hijacking the Brain development and writing I received a copy of this manuscript in exchange for an honest reviewI enjoyed thisebut novel from Christine Feldman a lot Callie is a savvy independent girl living life on the open road who is called back to her home town for personal reasons There she is reunited with the object of her teenage crush capable handsome Danny who runs the local river rafting business The pair are wary of each other at first but are inevitably 僕のヒーローアカデミア 3-4 drawn together as theyeal with a shared past and family illness The uestion for them both as their attraction becomes undeniable is whether Callie is willing to hang up her hat and take a chance on true love I enjoyed the mounting tension and heat between Callie and Danny who are gritty and credible characters and was reminded by their magnetism of the power of the teenage crushCongratulations to Christine for a great first effort and looking forward to reading all her future endeavoursRegards Caroline Carter Romance Novelist Reviewed on Hearts on Fire 35 Stars This is a nice gentle romance about a young woman named Callie who has left her small town life in Oregon to pursue life as a free spirit When she finds out her mother has fallen and broken her hips Callie returns to her old hometown that s filled with memories of her family including a brother who The Path to Gay Rights died several years ago in a car accident and his best friend Danny a boy that she had once had strong feelings for when she was a teenagerCallie finds herself still attracted to Danny when she sees him again but fears that she may be just like her father a man who abandoned his family when she was a child This story recounts her journey to figuring out who she really is andiscovering if she has what it takes to stick out a relationshipI thought the writing was good and liked the way we get to see both Callie Danny s point of view At first I thought the book had some small town bias with both Danny Callie s mom judging her for leaving town looking for a adventurous big city life Danny especially seemed to be good at the guilt trip But eventually I saw that their point of view wasn t so static as they both came around to say how proud they were of all her accomplishmentsThere s a soothing uality to this romance and story There s a conflict without much angst and there was a nice resolution A part of me wished for a little excitement or anything even sexiness sex to throw off the predictability We never Karen vs Alien did get to see examples of Callie s risk taking that s so talked about in the book Getting one small tattoo is just not enough to spell bold But not every book has to be a thrill ride and if you re in the mood for a nice even keeled romance story to read on some cozy afternoon then this one may just be the ticket Originally posted on The CanonFTC Disclosure I received a copy of this novel from the author in exchange for an honest reviewThere s really nothing like old history between two people to spark a romance In Coming Home Callie and Danny faceown uite a few ifferent ghosts I have been really into tensions lately in my posts I have no idea where that #S Coming Frommaybe A Freudian Slip In #coming frommaybe a Freudian slip In Sorry Haven t had enough coffee yet and the tensions in Coming Home add so much to the novel I loved how the side plots evolved around the main conflict adding interesting little tidbits to keep me engagedI found the metaphor of journey to be really interesting in this novel Callie takes a journey home then a journey to meet her father constantly thinks about her journey back to the big No woman ever really forgets her first love Callie Sorenson is no exception Hers was tall tanned and as her older brother’s best friend completely off limits Danny McCutcheon It’s a name that Callie hasn’t spoken in years even if the man to whom it belongs has never really been all that far from her thoughts Or her heart But now a twist of fate will bring her back to the childhood home she left behind years ago and to the hometown boy for whom she secretly longe. Ity but all the while she s on a trip of her own all these journeys and travels represent her growth which was a pleasant surprise hidden inside this novel Callie was interesting and engaging the kind of take charge girl we all love I laughed when she barrels over her mother s resisting assistant in the store immediately changing all sorts of things I felt that her own personal tensions and conflicts added to the story instead of ragging the attention away from the main point the romance between Callie and DannyPersonally I liked the tension between Callie and Danny they resist acknowledging their attraction for a good part of the book It S All The Anticipation That all the anticipation that it fun to readFinal Thoughts Callie and Danny go into a special spot on my ereader the one I go to when I want something short and sweet Coming Home was a lovely read one I look forward to reading again Amanda s review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews5 StarsThere is no better feeling when you read a good story which gets you out of your reading funk The story that id it for me was Coming Home by Christine Feldman I had been looking for something to spark my interest and what better way is with a new author and her ebut story I love finding something new and iscovering a gem of a story It s a story of first love and a wandering soul finding her placeCallie is going home to take care of her mother after a terrible fall Her relationship with her mother is #a bit strained ue to her father s abandonment and her brother s eath She left home at 18 and #bit strained ue to her father s abandonment and her brother s We Sell Drugs death She left home at 18 and been living away never staying long in one place She also left behind the boy she had a crush on and she had left on bad terms the last time she was homeThe plot of the story was well thought out and let the charactersevelop nicely For a short story I was pleasantly surprised that the length gave me time to like and understand the characters and they Problem Solving in Data Structures Algorithms Using C++ decisions that they make Both Danny and Callieon t want to hurt the other so they both refrain from pursuing the other even though they both want to badly Callie gets her uestions answered that she s been searching for and is able to move forward with her life and that played out well without it getting sappy or fake The tension and emotions were felt between the characters in their actions and even their non actions The story flowed well and idn t feel rushed to concludeIt was a nice length and took an afternoon to read in one sitting One thing that hit close to me is The Mother Daughter Dynamic That Relationship Alone Can Be Complicated mother aughter Women and Sustainable Agriculture: Interviews With 14 Agents of Change dynamic That relationship alone can be complicated I think the author touched on it theecisions made for the sake of her children and it s not until later that the adult child understands what was Crossing the color line in American politics and African American literature done for themComing Home opened my eyes a little to what goes on within a family and it s allone out of love This alone is a great part of the story and then you add the romance Rebuilding developing between the main characters you get an artfully written romance Itoesn t have to be graphic in order for it to be loving and heartfelt The romantic evelopment is slow and sweet and there is a nice epilogue to end the story on a beautiful note Check it out for yourself because it will be well worth it Reviewed for Read Your Writes Book Reviewsby KimwwwreadyourwritesblogspotcomCOMING HOME was than I bargained for I was looking for a romantic story I wasn t prepared for the classic motherdaughter friction and I wasn t prepared to cryCOMING HOME was a story that I could completely relate to I mean let s face it most aughters are like their mothers and neither one EVER sees it That s the case of me and my mom and my Therapy of Love daughter and myself It s only when you fall that you realize your mother was only trying to protect you from pain and heartacheThere isn t any uestion that Callie and Libby her mother love each other You can tell theyo For Callie however the one thing she can t get over is why her mother took away every momento of her father and never talks about himLibby is a strong woman in ways than one She sees all and knows all After her husband left the family she took care of two kids alone only to lose one at the hands of a Democratic Phoenix: Reinventing Political Activism drunkriver Though it broke her heart she allowed Callie to bypass college and leave home to spread her wings always hopi. D When her mother takes a bad fall and breaks her hip Callie leaves the bright lights of New York City to fly back west and help with the rehabilitation It’s a tense homecoming Museum Activism due to a long time estrangement between mother andaughter and it Narcissistic Mothers drives Callie to confront both a painful personal loss and her unanswered uestions about the father who abandoned her when she was just a child It also brings her face to face with Danny again and Callie uickly realizes that
